Approximately 70 men attended the Adirondack CBMC breakfast on January 16th at the exquisitely renovated Queensbury Hotel.
He laughed, he cried and the audience largely followed suit during a highly engaging and emotional testimony from Dan Yamin. Dan, a big man with an even larger heart, shared his experiences of growing up in a family that demonstrated a certain level of normal, familial dysfunction and yet unique and difficult business failures centered on the greed and advantage taken by others who were trusted business partners. And while Dan’s family was able to salvage their relationships following his parents conversion to Christianity, Dan in his business life relived some of the same agonizing betrayals of confidence and trust. Dan, the son of a serial entrepreneur, would himself experience the highs and lows of business life. From a high flying, successful corporate executive to the highs of creating and building his own successful telecommunications business, Dan is clearly no stranger to the lure of success and the promises of money. His challenge to the men in attendance was to avoid chasing position, power and possessions in favor of building lasting, God-centered relationships with family, friends and even strangers. Dan also encouraged men to forgive others as Christ has forgiven us and as was clearly demonstrated in two generations of the Yamin family. Wow, what a heart-warming and challenging testimony enjoyed by those who were in attendance. Thank you Dan for sharing your heart and life story with Adirondack CBMC…we were all blessed by you today!
Our next event is April 4th, at the Queensbury Hotel with speaker Michael Bittel.
