September 19th Meeting with Bill Batkay
Bill Batkay’s pursuit of wealth exposed the fact there was something fundamental missing in his life. That something was “someone” in the person of Jesus Christ. One day in January of 1997, Bill called a local pastor who shared an extraordinary message of forgiveness and fulfillment. Bill accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior that day…a day that changed everything.
Bill’s change refocused his attention toward others. For 21 years, Bill and his wife Ronnie served the youth of South Glens Falls through the ministry of Young Life where Whiffle Hockey was invented. Bill’s service to others expanded to include Ambassador with CBMC; Chaplain to the Adirondack Thunder; The Open Door Mission Board; and with the anti-trafficking, Lower Adirondack Alliance for Freedom Board.
Bill has been married to his high school sweetheart Ronnie for 41 years and he is the proud father of three sons and grandfather to a grandson and granddaughter who call him Pop. Bill has held the position of Controller of Miller Mechanical Services since the Company’s inception in 1989.
